Shark Den Cheer (found in the trash, author unknown)

We are grey and we are large,
Don't attack or we will charge.

We're the Sharks and we're the best,
Swim all day and never rest.

Large and grey and full of teeth,
We will scare you off the beach

We're the Sharks, best of the bunch,
Stay away or you'll be lunch!

Den Cheer

Tigers, and Wolves, and Bears, Oh My!
Tigers, and Wolves and Bears, OH MY!
Tigers and Bears? Who really Cares?
We're the toughest anywhere!

Closing Song
(to the tune of "Surfer Girl" by the Beach Boys, words by Paula Hrbacek)

Little Cub Scout, prepared one, You have made this day camp fun.
Did you play hard, did you, Cub Scout boy?

We tried something new together, While our day camp ran.
We're so glad we got together, We're your biggest fan.

So we say from us to you. We're so glad you wear the blue.
Did you have fun, did you Cub Scout boy?

Day Camp Song---Sung to "I Don't Want No More of Army Life"

The arts and crafts you get here, they say are mighty fine
But the art instructor makes you draw the line.

(Chorus) I don't want no more of day camp life. Gee ma, I want to go home.

The car horns that they toot here, they say are mighty fine.
But you just get started, and they tell you that it's time. (chorus)

The first aid you get here, they say is mighty fine,
But if you cut your finger, you're left with only nine. (chorus)

The fishing instructor, they say is mighty fine,
But when he showed us how to cast he hooked me on his line. (chorus)

The football instructor they say is mighty fine,
If he'd lose that belly, he'd look like Calvin Klien. (chorus)

The Games leader they say is mighty fine,
He thinks that he's from Nick at Nite and doused us all with slime. (chorus)

(sung by Camp Director) The District Director, they say is mighty fine, ...
He said this was an easy job, but I found out he was lyin'. (chorus)

The Webelos Director, they say is mighty fine,
He took ten boys to the pool, and returned with only nine. (chorus)

The women at day camp they say are mighty fine,
but when they get their make-up wet, they look like Frankenstein. (chorus)

The transportation, they say is mighty fine,
But when they turn a corner, they leave the wheels behind. (chorus)

I don't want no more of day camp life. Gee ma, I want to go, but they won't let me go,
Gee ma, I want to go home.

Safe Camp Rap

A safe camp is so much fun,
Don't want no ambulance to come!

Our campground has out of bounds,
A place that you should not be found.

Tools in camp help us each day,
When we're done, they're put away.

Our trash is put into a can,
to show that we respect the land.

If you need to go from here,
tell the leader standing near.

Buddies and denners come in handy,
take one with you, that's just dandy.

But most of all, let's all have fun,
Let's make new friends, I hope you're one.

The Twelve Booths at Day Camp
(to the tune of the Twelve Days of Christmas)

At the first booth at day camp, my leader said to me,
"Watch out for the poison ivy!"

At the second booth at day camp, my leader said to me,
"Clean up your mess, and watch out for the poison ivy!"

At the third booth..."Don't chew gum, ..."

At the fourth booth...."wear close-toed shoes"

At the fifth booth...."where is your hat?"

At the sixth booth...."Time for our lunch"

At the seventh booth..."Pick up the trash"

At the eighth booth...."Let's sing a song"

At the ninth booth...."Use the buddy system

At the tenth booth...."Drop that snake"

At the eleventh booth..."I said signs are up!"

At the twelfth booth..."What do you mean you don't know what car pool you're in?"

Adult Volunteer Song (Battle Hymn of the Republic)

I signed my son for day camp, and they called me to the fore.
I said I wasn't ready, but they said , you are, what's more,
We will train you for the basics, we'll outfit you for the corps.
Our day camp needs you more.

Glory, glory, I'm the leader. How'd I get to be the leader?
All I did was have an S-O-N Is this the price I pay?

I had to learn to sing songs that I didn't understand.
I learned to dance the Hula and to lead a rhythm band
That even with the best intents, it never goes as planned
Oh Isn't Day Camp grand?

Glory, glory, I'm the leader. Me, they had to make a leader.
I can't even build a fire, let alone put up a tent!

But even though I grumble and I mumble and I shout.
Though I sometimes wonder what's the best way to get out.
I guess when all is said and done, there isn't any doubt.
I'm glad to be a scout!

Glory, glory, I'm the leader. Someone's got to be the leader.
And when Day Camp is over, you can say I did my best.

Sailfish Den Song
(to the tune of "The Monkees", words by Paula Hrbacek)

Here we come, from sea to shining sea,
Being helpful and friendly, to everyone we meet.

Hey, hey we're the Sailfish,
Better not feed us a line.
We are hooked on scouting,
and we're here to have a good time.

Lead us well, 'cuz we're the best patrol,
Even tho, at times, we're a bit out of control!

Hey, hey, we're the sailfish, better not feed us a line.
We are hooked on scouting, and we're here to have a good time.

Day Camp Director's Motto:

"I only accept excuses that are better than mine."
